Coltautos.com was established in 1996 originally to provide the internet community and the growing number of Colt collectors with an informative and easy-to-use resource on Colt's Pocket Hammerless semi-automatic pistols.  Since then, the site has been refined and expanded to include information on all Colt semi-automatic pistol models manufactured from 1900 to 1945.  (With the exception of the Colt Woodsman, for which there is a link.)  We have an extensive library of published and unpublished references on Colt firearms and draw on our 15 years of experience in conjunction with these reference to provide answers to the most obscure Colt questions.

Coltautos.com has an extremely loyal following and receives more than 1000 users per day with an average visit time of approximately 5 minutes. International users account for between 8-10% of the site's traffic. The site is registered on all major internet search engines and is advertised in various gun collector's publications including Gun List and the Gun Journal. In May, 1998, the CADA Gun Journal featured a Review of Coltautos.com in its' monthly column "Cool Firearms Site on the Net."  We limit the links we provide to other sites to "Colt only" web sites..

We have many upcoming enhancements planned for Coltautos.com.  Like most web sites, Coltautos.com is a "work in progress" and we will continue to update the site with photos and information on the various pre-WWII Colt models.

Authors & Publishers

Exclusively for authors and publishers of books about Colt firearms, Coltautos.com offers very reasonable display advertising rates. Each book will be featured in a rotating graphic on the Home Page.  When visitors click on the graphic, they are taken to a page which displays the covers of specially advertised books on Colt firearms, with links to order forms for these books.   Selecting one of the books takes the user to a single page (containing a large photo, description and reviews of the book) devoted to the selected publication, which also has a link to the order form. If the author/publisher already has a website with online ordering capabilities, a link to your shopping cart can be substituted for a link to an order form.

Coltautos.com Premium Classifieds - Since September 1, 1997, Coltautos.com provided  a free classifieds page as a service to collectors and enthusiasts of Colt firearms. Coltautos.com requires that all items be priced. (i.e. no "make offer" or "best offer" ads accepted.)  If you are willing to trade your gun for another model, you may indicate your desire to trade and include a description of the item you desire.  Photos - If you have a digital photo of your gun and would like to include a pointer to your photo with your ad, you may do so at no charge.   Classifieds are posted for a period of three months.  No "wanted to buy" ads accepted. All Federal Firearms laws apply.
