Colt Junior serial number 26cc - One of the first guns manufactured by Astra for Colt.  This model was called the Colt Junior and was introduced and first offered for sale in 1958.  Production of this model continued into 1968 when the Gun Control of Act of 1968 essentially stopped the importation of certain types of firearms and forced production of this Spanish made Colt to cease.

This Colt .25 is based on the Astra in the same caliber, in fact, the Astra company presented factory cutaway pistols to the Colt executives when they were considering the adoption of this model.  The trigger, hammer and barrel are polished bright and the earliest examples have mounded hard rubber grips.

Colt Junior serial number 26cc - Unlike the Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP which had the serial number stamped inside the slide during certain years of production, the Colt Junior had the serial number stamped on the right rear of the slide, so that is was visible without having to take down the gun.  The safety on this gun is also numbered "26". (visible when removed)  External hammer has a lanyard ring.

Colt Junior serial number 26cc - complete with original box numbered to the gun.  These boxes have a small paper covered block of wood glued to the left side to hold the gun into position.  The gun came with one magazine, an instruction sheet and a small protective plastic gun sleeve.

Colt Junior serial number 26cc- The earliest boxes were marked with the serial number on the end.  This practice was later replaced with the use of a label which bears the model designation and the stamped serial number.

Colt Junior serial number 26cc - the top of the two piece box obviously had a label in the lower left corner, but that label is now missing.
