Colt Model 1908 .380 ACP Police Department Marked
Factory Inscribed Pistols

B.P.D. - Binghamton, New York Police Department

 

Model M .32 serial number 33845 with factory rollmark "B.P.D. No. 48" on right side of frame above grip. This was one of 50 guns marked "B.P.D. No. 1-50" on the frame ordered by the Binghamton Police Department.

Pistols in the sn range 31561 - 35301 with this marking were shipped on May 11, 1917.  26 of these pistols were returned for refinishing and had walnut grips added on January 2, 1923.
