| Colt Model M Frame in early state of production - from the estate of a former Colt employee. Only basic milling has been completed on this frame. The locating hole next to the trigger guard is used to secure the frame for various milling operations. |

| Top view of frame - forward cut is to the left of the area that is milled with the barrel locking grooves. |

| Hole has been drilled for the recoil spring and guide. Following this operation, the top part of the frame is milled away back to the forward cut in the top of the frame. |

| Pilot hole has been drilled in magazine well. |

| Unfinished Model M Slide and Frame - parts have most of final milling completed. Slide is missing serrations and slot for front sight has not been milled. Parts were most likely scrapped because of milling error forward of the trigger guard and the thin trigger guard. |

| Unfinished slide - right side - slide is finished in the white and lacks any slide markings. It is fitted with front and rear sight, firing pin and extractor. |
